This summer, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet on Nintendo Switch offer exciting new online events. Key highlights include shiny legendary Pokémon in Tera Raid Battles and mass outbreaks across Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy.

Shiny Treasures of Ruin (Tera Raid Event)
📅 July 23 – September 14, 2025
Four shiny legendary Pokémon will appear one after another in 5-star Tera Raid Battles:
- Chongjian (Grass) – Jul 23 to Aug 3
- Baojian (Ice) – Aug 4 to Aug 17
- Dinglu (Ground) – Aug 18 to Aug 31
- Yuyu (Fire) – Sep 1 to Sep 14
⚠️ These Pokémon cannot be caught directly in raids. Instead, a shiny version will later be distributed as a Mystery Gift—but only if players worldwide defeat each Pokémon 1 million times.
🔹 For every additional 100,000 wins, players will receive 40 Tera Shards (up to 10 times).

During these events, specific Pokémon types appear more frequently—with an increased chance of being shiny!

How to Receive Mystery Gifts
- Start Pokémon Scarlet or Violet
- Press X to open the main menu
- Go to Poké Portal > Mystery Gift
- Select Get via Internet
- Choose your gift
- Save the game!
📌 Note: You do not need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, but your console must be connected to the internet and linked to a Nintendo Account.
What Are Tera Raids?
Tera Raids are special multiplayer battles where up to 4 players team up to defeat a powerful Tera Crystal Pokémon within a time limit. Many event Pokémon feature rare or unusual Tera Types.
- 5-star Raids become available after finishing the main story
- You can still join online Raids hosted by others, even if you haven’t completed the story
- Nintendo Switch Online is required for online play

What Are Mass Outbreaks?
Mass Outbreaks are time-limited events where a large number of Pokémon of the same species appear at specific locations. These events offer a higher spawn rate and often a greater chance of finding shiny Pokémon.
