If you want to add a shiny Koraidon or Miraidon to your team in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet (*), there’s a new event you should know about. Here’s when, where, and how to get them – plus what this means for players in Germany and Europe. I’ll also cover some handy tips, rumors, and how to unlock their travel forms.
What is this event?
From September 26, 2025 to October 15, 2025, players can receive a serial code that grants a shiny Koraidon or Miraidon through the Mystery Gift function.
- Codes are distributed at select retail stores.
- Codes will remain valid until October 23, 2025 – after that, redemption won’t be possible.
Where and how to get the code?
Land / Region | Geschäft | Was man zeigt / tut |
---|---|---|
USA | GameStop | Visit participating GameStop stores and show your copy of Scarlet or Violet. |
Canada, Australia, New Zealand | EB Games | Same process as in the USA. |
Japan | Various participating game stores | Show your game to receive a code. |
South Korea | Selected stores | Details still incomplete. |
France | Micromania-Zing | Same process as in the USA. |
Which version gets which Pokémon?
- In Pokémon Violet (*), you’ll receive Shiny Koraidon.
- In Pokémon Scarlet (*), you’ll get Shiny Miraidon.
Keep in mind: one Pokémon per code. You cannot redeem both with the same serial code.
What about Germany / Europe?
- So far, official announcements only cover the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea.
- GameStop Germany still exists but has closed many branches, and it’s unclear if they’ll take part.
- As of now, there is no confirmation for Germany or Europe. It’s possible that Pokémon or Nintendo will announce a separate online Mystery Gift or work with different retailers.
Additional details and tips
How to redeem:
- Launch your game (Scarlet or Violet).
- Open the Poké Portal from the X menu.
- Select Mystery Gift.
- Choose Get with Code/Password.
- Enter your code → Pokémon appears in your party or storage.
Important notes:
- Only one Pokémon per code.
- Codes are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Codes usually work cross-region, meaning if you obtain one abroad (e.g., during a trip to the USA), it should still work in your European game – though there’s never a 100% guarantee if restrictions are mentioned.
Unlocking forms and abilities
Besides collecting shiny versions, Koraidon and Miraidon can unlock special travel abilities by progressing through the Path of Legends storyline and defeating Titan Pokémon.

- Sprint Form: Defeat Titan Klawf in South Province (Area 3) → unlocks sprinting.
- Swim Form: Defeat Titan Bombirdier in West Province (Area 1) → unlocks swimming.
- High Jump: Defeat Titan Orthworm in East Province (Area 3) → unlocks higher jumps.
- Glide Form: Defeat Titan Great Tusk in Asado Desert → unlocks gliding.
- Climb Ability: Defeat Titan Dondozo and Tatsugiri at Casseroya Lake → unlocks climbing.
Miraidon (Pokémon Violet) (*)
- Drive Mode: Defeat Titan Klawf in South Province (Area 3) → unlocks sprinting.
- Swim Mode: Defeat Titan Bombirdier in West Province (Area 1) → unlocks swimming.
- High Jump: Defeat Titan Orthworm in East Province (Area 3) → unlocks higher jumps.
- Glide Mode: Defeat Titan Iron Treads in Asado Desert → unlocks gliding.

These upgrades make exploring Paldea much easier and are essential for reaching hidden areas.
Rumors and speculation
- Fans are speculating about a worldwide Mystery Gift distribution online later on, without the need to visit stores. Nothing confirmed yet.
- In Europe, other retailers (such as MediaMarkt or Saturn) could potentially distribute codes, but no announcement has been made.
- Since GameStop has reduced its presence in many countries, an alternative solution for Europe seems increasingly likely.
For now, players in Germany and Europe will have to wait and see. The event is officially confirmed only for North America, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. If you have the chance to pick up a code abroad or through friends, don’t miss it – shiny Koraidon and Miraidon are rare collector’s Pokémon. And even if Europe is left out this time, such distributions often return in the future.
